Can I See My Wedding Magnet Design Before I Order?

How the proof process works on a custom wedding magnet order: when the design arrives, how many revisions you get, what happens if you do not like it, and what a proof can and cannot show you.

Ordering something custom online asks for an uncomfortable amount of trust. You send a photograph of a venue, type in two names and a date, and hope that what arrives looks like the thing you pictured. For a wedding, with a fixed date and guests already invited, that hope carries real weight.

So the question comes up constantly, and it deserves a direct answer rather than a reassuring one.

The short answer

Yes, you always see your design before anything is made. Every custom order includes a digital proof, and nothing is printed, cut or packed until you look at that proof and approve it.

If you do not like what you see, you can ask for changes as many times as you need, or cancel for a full refund. That option stays open right up until the moment you approve. The proof is not a courtesy step at the end of the process; it is the gate the order has to pass through.

What you see, and when

The proof is a digital image of your finished design: the illustration or photograph, the layout, your wording, and the coordinated backing card. It shows you exactly what will be printed.

Stage What happens Timing
You order Choose format and quantity, add wording, upload reference photos
We draw Artwork is created from your photograph and notes Within 3 business days
You review Proof arrives; approve it or request changes Your pace
We produce Printing and cutting begin, only after approval 5 to 7 business days
We ship Tracked international delivery 7 to 14 business days

The clock on production does not start until you approve. If you take four days to reply, production starts four days later. This matters when you are working to a date, and it is the single most common reason an order finishes later than a couple expected.

What happens if you do not like it

This is the part worth reading twice.

  • Ask for changes. Revisions are unlimited. Wrong shade of green on the roof, the date in the wrong format, a tree you would rather remove, a font that feels too formal — all of it can change.
  • Or cancel entirely. Any time before you approve the proof, you can cancel for a full refund. No reason required.

Nothing has been produced at that point, so there is nothing to send back and nothing to argue about. The full terms are on the Refund policy page, and they are short.

After approval, that changes. Production begins, and because each piece is printed and cut to your specific design, the order can no longer be cancelled or returned. If something arrives damaged or does not match the proof you approved, send a photograph and it gets remade or refunded.

How the proof reaches you

The proof is sent by email or WhatsApp, whichever you prefer, along with a link where you can approve it or request changes with a comment.

If you would rather handle everything over WhatsApp — sending reference photographs, discussing wording, approving the design — that works, and for a lot of couples it is faster than email. Photographs in particular are easier to send and easier to compare in a chat thread.

What to send us so the proof is accurate

The proof can only be as good as what it is drawn from. A few things make a noticeable difference.

  • One clear, well-lit photograph of the venue or subject, taken straight on rather than at a steep angle.
  • The full front of the building if it is a venue, including any detail you care about — a porch, a window arrangement, a particular tree.
  • Your wording exactly as you want it printed, including how you want the date formatted. Spelling is copied as given.
  • Any colour you need matched, described plainly. "Sage green, like the bridesmaid dresses" is more useful than a colour name alone.
  • What to leave out. Cars in the driveway, a skip, scaffolding, a neighbouring building. Say so and it will not appear.

You can upload up to five reference images when you order, or email them afterwards with your order number. There is more detail on the How It Works page.

What a proof can show you, and what it cannot

A proof is an accurate representation of the artwork. It is not a photograph of the finished object, and there are two things it genuinely cannot convey.

Thickness and weight. The difference between the 3mm and 5mm formats is something you feel rather than see. On screen, a 5mm magnet with its polished edge and a 3mm one look almost identical. In your hand they do not. If that choice matters to you, the 3mm and 5mm comparison explains what changes.

Exact colour. Screens vary, and printed colour on acrylic is not identical to backlit colour on a phone. Colours are matched carefully, but a small shift between screen and print is normal and is not a fault.

Everything else — layout, shape, wording, what is included in the illustration — the proof shows you precisely.

How this changes your timeline

Because production waits for your approval, the proof stage is part of your schedule rather than separate from it. A realistic plan allows time for the proof to arrive, for you to look at it properly, and for one round of changes.

If you are working backward from a wedding date, when to order personalized wedding favors sets out the full timeline with the buffer built in. The short version: give yourself more room than the minimum, and reply to the proof quickly when it lands.

Frequently asked questions

How many revisions do I get?

As many as you need before approval. In practice most orders settle after one round, because the first proof is drawn from your photograph and your notes rather than from a template.

Can I get a refund after I approve the proof?

No. Approval is the point where production starts, and every piece is made to your design. Before approval, a full refund is available for any reason. This is why it is worth reading the proof carefully rather than approving it quickly.

Will the finished magnet look exactly like the proof?

The artwork will match. Small details may be simplified to suit the finished size, and printed colour can shift slightly from what you see on screen. The layout, wording, shape and content will be what you approved.

Can I see a design before I place an order at all?

The free proof comes after ordering, but nothing is produced until you approve it and a full refund is available until that point — so ordering first carries no real risk. If you would rather not order until you have seen something, get in touch and we will tell you what is possible.

What if I need to change the wording after approval?

Contact us immediately. If production has not physically started there is sometimes room to correct it, but once printing has begun the design is fixed. This is the reason the proof exists.

The point of the proof

The proof is there so that the decision you are making is a small one. You are not committing to a box of magnets sight unseen; you are committing to look at a design and say yes or no, with a full refund available either way.
